Being able to work part time had a massive impact for our whānau. Not only did it mean I had an extra day to spend with my 12 month old son every week but it also gave my wife more space as she returned to work.

The key enablers were a supportive team and also transparency around when I was online vs. offline. A consistent day (Friday) was very helpful for this and my diary was always blocked out. Importantly this was a two way street - my team were always welcome to call me at any point if needed (but they rarely did). If I went back in time or had another child I would absolutely repeat this experience again.
