A podcast that is practical, punchy and peppered with laughter.

Working and having a family is hard. But what is really fatiguing is that it is only mothers that pay a penalty when they become parents. It is only mothers that pay an up to 60% salary penalty over the first five years of establishing their family. Only mothers that see their retirement savings penalised because of the caregiving requirements they are fulfilling. And only mothers that get sidelined in their careers because of the lack of quality part time roles.

In this podcast we get curious about the system that creates the motherhood penalty and curious about the solutions that are going to smash it. We will talk to some of the experts who are actively smashing it, find out their story and figure out what we can learn from them. Hosted by Emma Mclean, CEO & Founder of Works for Everyone, this is a punchy, practical, and peppered with laughter podcast that equips listeners with ideas they can take back to their homes and workplaces to help smash the motherhood penalty.

Here are what coaching clients say about Emma Mclean who is the host of the podcasts:

I was lucky enough to work with Emma shortly after returning to work after having a baby.  Experiencing what I describe as a “constant snowstorm”, I had lost myself between being a mum, an employee, and running a household, and feeling like I was failing at doing any of these very well.  Emma has a wealth of knowledge and practical tips to help put out the immediate fires, but over the course of our programme she really helped me find myself again, figure out what was missing and how to muster the courage to ask for it.  Coaching with Emma is like talking to an old friend; she’s funny, empathetic and so real – she ‘gets it’ because she’s been there, and I came away from every session feeling seen, heard and validated (and inspired!).  Thank you Emma for all you’ve done for me!

“When I first started working with Emma I was really grappling with returning to my career after becoming a mum. I had recently resigned from a job after only being in it for a few months, and I was feeling really lost about what I wanted to do, and whether I could find something that fitted into the new stage of life I was in. Emma helped me to connect to myself again and work out what was most important to me. Through her coaching, I have gained clarity, courage and confidence to find a role that works on my terms. Not only that, but Emma has helped me reconnect to the bigger dreams I have for my life. Funny, wise, kind and supportive – Emma is a fantastic coach. .
